New knife enthusiast here... I've been browsing the forums, read the reviews and finally got my hands on the Kabar Becker BK2, SOG Seal Pup Elite, and Gerber Prodigy. The Prodigy and Seal Pup are "His and Hers" and will be hidden at bedside.

The BK2 will go with the camping gear. The knife is solid but i want to give it a sharper edge... and maybe polish. What are some good entry level sharpenning equipment to get me started?

Thanks!

I prefer Norton bench stones, get the ones that are 8" long. Never tried the diamond (DMT) stones. After getting used to regular stones it's hard for me to use the Sharpmaker, perhaps I'm not used to it.

The Sharpmaker is great, and you can add diamond and UF stones for more versatility.

I'm reading alot about BK2 and convexed edges. Any suggestions on a sharpenning kit for convexing the BK2? How many hours would it take?

I go back and forth between DMT stones and sandpaper / mousepad (leather strip actually - don't like the mousepad). It's sharp... and pretty. :D
