I bought a BK2 awhile ago but never really used it, as it was not really sharp out of the box.I did try sharpening it on my Gatco and found that the two edge bevel were different. Just want to know what angle I should be sharpening at.I know Beckerheads have put a convex edge on theirs just wanted to try this first.

Mine has uneven grinds as well. Unless I am mistaken, the edge is a flat ground 20 degree edge (per side)

A convex grind, to my kknowledge, is either done with a belt sander, or it occurs naturally over time using a stone.

I use an idahone, but I really want to get a ceramic rod v sharpener that has 20 and 22.5 degrees instead of 15 degrees and 22.5

Putting sandpaper on a surface with a bit of give (Most people use a mousepad or a phone book) and sharpening your knife on that gives it a convex edge, then strop it to hone it up. There's plenty of threads on it if you wanna search it or give YouTube a crack :)
When I got my BK2 it had a wonky grind on one side near the tip, not very noticeable but aesthetically annoying :P

Oh and the Sticky at the top of the sub forum, everything you need to know.

It sounds like a lot of these Bk2s are coming with that wonky grind, I figured that I was probably the only one

Thanks guys.I haven't bought a becker in a while.Forgot that Kabar specs were available on their site and inthe Becker section;a 20 degree bevel.I'm going to try sharpening it on my Gatco at that angle, which may take a lot of time to get the two edges even.As for convexing, I do have my 1x30.
