Wow, that is ugly, lol. But...there are a couple advantages to that newer sheath I'll cover at the end. Is there a zipper underneath the buckle, like in the old design?
Looks like he and Spec Ops are not working together anymore and this is his own design. One of the advantages of this was that you knew the quality was there and it was made in USA...and had a lifetime warranty. Did he say what materials are used in this one, if it was made in USA, and if there was a warranty? JUst me, but I would make sure those things are true instead of getting burned on a cheap Chinese sheath (if you are concerned with those things). Also, does he make custom kydex inserts, because the insert looks form fitted for that specific blade...
So the good part of the design? You can carry a firesteel (or pen, lol). It looks like you can wear it vertically on a belt like you traditionally would or horizontally across the back through the webbing. You can mount these using the pals webbing by using something like malice clips:

What the heck is that random snap for at the bottom of the back of the sheath!?
Either way, he needs to update his Web site! Not very good business practice to do that.
**I don't own any of these pictures or links, I found them all on Google**
