BK2 Sheath Options

Been reading up on aftermarket sheaths a lot lately. While I would love a nice, leather sheath for my new 2, they're just out of my price range. Plain and simple. Hopefully, I'll pick one up at some point down the road. Now, I don't see myself ever actually wearing the sheath on my belt. Maybe I'd wear one scout-style but, I think a MOLLE application is most appealing to me. That being said, is the Spec-Ops Combat Master Short my best/only option? I haven't found any others that are MOLLE-compatible (except Hedgehog Leatherworks...). If I go the Spec-Ops route, and I'm not going to be lashing it to my thigh, I'm assuming the paracord dangling from the bottom can be removed?

Thanks, just looking for some guidance here -
Steve

Ah yeah, that would help. The Spec-Ops is about 40 bucks and I'm comfortable with that. I could go a little higher perhaps, but that's the ballpark.

The Spec Ops is a good sheath.
I have one for my bk10. Yes, the paracord can be removed.
Also, Ka-bar has a molle back sheath for the 2 now. Might be worth a call.

Also, there are some good Kydex benders around here.
Slap a Tek- lok on and call her good.

All that great info, and he didn't charge ya for it?? Listen to this guy, he be a genius!!!

Bigghoss, do you have any pictures of that setup?

Probably not much help to you because I only use the lower half to make a drop leg rig but here's what I got.

It would be pretty good for mounting to a pack. It has the molle webbing on the back and has two methods of retention beyond the friction of the sheath itself. You have to take off the factory belt loop to mount it but that's hardly an issue. The pouch on the front is also from ESEE and comes with a tin.

Why not just get the Bk-22? It comes with the new MOLLE compatible sheath, and it is the tried and true knife.

I have a Spec Ops Combat Master and it does very very well for my 2. And it only cost me 26 bucks. You will not go wrong with a Spec Ops. I'm not able to post up a pic of it at the moment.

I do like the option of getting the new and improved OEM sheath, but wasn't there talk recently about the MOLLE straps needing to be altered? I suspect it'll be a little while until we get our hands on the new, new and improved version promised in that thread.
Anyway, after more positive feedback about it here and watching more video reviews, I think I'll end up with that Combat Master. Eventually, maybe I'll upgrade to a nice one from Sagewood. Thanks for the tips, everybody. Molle clips, especially, I wasn't aware of those.

Thanks,
Steve

The SPEC-OPS sheaths are excellent and better quality than the OEM sheaths. Camillus on some of their Becker's made for the Gov't included a SPEC-OPS Sheath for the BK-77 etc. I only wish (hint hint) SPEC-OPS would make a sheath for the BK9.

Here you go Chief.

EDIT: My sheath

This was when it was brand new. It has since seen a low of use and holds up very very well. Just a word though about the pocket. It's only big enough for a pistol magazine so anything you want to put in there, well, you are going to have to go small. My firekit rides in the pocket.

If you want, I can snap a pic of my sheath how it looks today and post it for you.

Replace the nylon on the sheath and add a pouch to the front of it, call it good.

I want to do this to my factory sheath I like it a lot just don't like the belt loop I have a techlock to go on it if I stop being lazy and crack down!!!
