Anybody else have trouble with the factory bk2 sheath? When i slide the 2 into the sheath it goes in with a loud crack. The trouble is when i try to remove it i have to use both hands and a firm grip with a hard pull. Any ideas what could be causing this?

You can try using your thumb, pushing the sheath forwards when pulling the knife out of it, kinda tricky [emoji41] [emoji41] [emoji41]

It's made to have good retention without the need to strap in it. Grab the handle and put your thumb at the spine on the sheath's little thumb pad, then push your thumb down and pull on the knife, should be able to get it out that way.

The sheath is designed in a way to make theft of the nice impossible without cutting it off the belt.

Mine bk2 sheath was very stiff when I got it, a real firm push with thumb was needed - there is a little knack to it you soon figure out. It also has a mighty crack when you put your knife in (especially in quiet woods it seems to echo all over). No doubt some Mall Ninjas /Rambo-wannabies would complain cos its not stealthy. It has slowly slackened off a little, but still a very bit of a tight grip. I don't mind too much as if it slackens/is slackening off over time and still holds its grip - for sure the knife is never going to fall out.

If someone can run by you and steal your knife that easily, they probably deserve it.

While it can be annoying, the BK-2 sheath is made to have a secure hold on the forward most portion of the Becker handle. As stated above it is best to use your thumb on the sheath's thumb ramp and push the sheath off of the knife. With a little practice it gets easier.

Of course as the sheath breaks in it will be easier to unsheath the knife. You can also put the knife in partway so that the handle isn't quite seated fully and the handle is holding the sheath apart and let that help break in the sheath.

If that doesn't work out for you there are many aftermarket sheath options for kydex and leather.

I hope this helps.

I've had a couple BK2's and each factory sheath was a little different.
A few were perfect, but I had one or two that were extra tight...

OlManDave, hopefully you can work that sheath for awhile and it may loosen up for you.

yup. Exactly!

If you aren't willing to work on getting the trick down, I have a BK22 sheath I would swap for yours.
