BK2 Sheath Question

Just picked up my first Becker, a BK2. Love the knife so far. My wife loves it too, but she is unable to pull it from the sheath. It is very difficult to do. What sheaths are you folks using instead of the factory one? Pictures would be great, if you have some. Thank you!

As was told to me, remove the top rivet from each side and voila, instant break-in. Works like a charm.

I used a blow dryer on mine. Used a couple of screwdrivers or anything you can wedge between the top slits and applied heat with the dryer.

For my BK2, I am currently using an ESEE 5 sheat for my BK2. In a few days, I will be getting a Spec Ops short sheath for my BK2 and my ESEE5 will be going in the ESEE5 sheath.

Mine was the same way. Next time you're kickin' back enjoying your favorite hockey team in action, and take it out and snap it back in over and over again. It'll wear itself in nicely.

I removed the top two rivits with a drill. The sheath still retains the knife but it is now much easier (and quieter) to draw. I laced some paracord through the holes to tidy things up a bit.

Thanks guys! Not sure what I will end up doing yet, but it is kind of funny to watch my wife try with all her might to pull the BK2 out of the sheath and not get it. It is like watching people trying to pull Excaliber out of the stone! Lots of work and cursing, but no blade!

I removed the top two rivets as well and it may the knife fit nicely. I then removed the cheap nylon belt loop and added a Tec-loc from bladetech. I also
installed an Esee 5 pouch and now I have a top notch sheath. If you go to youtube and do a search on BK2 sheath mods you'll find a video with these mods.

Here is a pic of what I did. You can still see the rivet on the other side. It comes out easy and still has really good retention.

Thanks for the post, great idea.

I will order a new BK-2 sheath for my older Camillus mfg. BK-2.

Regards,
FK

one could replace the rivet(s) with plastic/nylon nut/bolt and get adjustable tension too :)
