BK2 sheath question

Hello all, new BK2 owner here. Love this beast that is the bk2. I want to know if i have the newer. non-dulling sheath. It looks sturdy and well-made and i kinda like like. dont really want to shell out another 40-50 for an aftermarket if its not necessary. thanks all:

Sadly, there isn't a way to tell from looking at the sheath if you have a newer glassless version, or the older version with glass in it.

However, just test it out, you'll know pretty quick which version that you have.

I got a standard glassed version with my BK2 more than a year ago. The stock sheath was broken on delivery (the snap was in multiple pieces), and I mentioned the sheath dulling. They sent me out a new glassless version, which works better. My guess is that you likely have the glassless one, because that is the newer version and they were already producing it over a year ago.
 
Run the knife edge along the sheath and see what happens...Not rocket science. Btw, welcome to the forum man.
 
The new and old sheaths both have glass in them. The newer ones have less. Just an FYI
