That is my take on the BK2, I now have an Eskabar and my next Becker is a BK7. I'm in love with my BK2 though!

As my 1 yr old daughter would say, YUM YUM.

Thanks Ethan and Ka-Bar for making such fine blades!

Hey, I know you, I've seen some of your youtube vids... I remember the one where you gave away an ESEE-4 and the one where you designed a very simmilar BK-2 type knife but with O-1 and a 6" blade.

Thanks for watching my vids! I did make a blade out of O1 with a Becker style handle. I love the Beckers that much. You know, I got sick, then at the same time, winter came. It was like -40 to -50 here and I only have a small heater in my workshop and working with metals in those temps really is rough on my hands. I am not really impressed with my first knife. It looks cool, but there are mistakes and some issues with it. I am in the process of getting tools and designing more, but this is only for personal use.

I would agree with the OP, but only because the 7 usually runs a little higher than $65... ;)

I'm the same as you with the tools and learing those kinda skills, not doing full on customs yet but I DO make a pretty weird custom Becker. We get the opposite here in Oz, its annoyingly hot in summer and when your sweating like a hooker in church its a pain in the ass to do anything haha.

I think the extra $3 is worth it! But I guess if you need to hack your way out of a helicopter.....

Well, the BK7 is a different blade than the BK2. I mean the only thing they may have in common is their origin. Both great knives, but IMO, different purposes. I don't own a BK7, yet, but I expect that it would be a far better chopper than the BK2.

I'm liking the 2 a lot. The sheath has been my only gripe but I've filed off some of the real sharp spots so at least I'm not getting cut on the sheath. The sheath is very serviceable and adaptable for stock.

I love my BK-2. It's a bargain at it's current price. This steel is a steal! I certainly would'nt sell it at the price I bought it for. I would'nt sell it period.
