I prefer my 2 for an end all knife. Numero Uno, and until I find something that will out perform it, it will always be Numero Uno. So far, nothing has.
The BK10 has been riding with me the last couple of weeks in my bag, doing some various thing. Nothing heavy, this will most likely be this weekend. It works, and works well. It light enought that I was gonna leave my BK2 at home this weekend, and thought about a 1 knife weekend out on the river.
I was having a hard time doing that, just so's ya'll know.
But alas, due to changes in the world, my trip has been postponed, and my heavy lifting might just be cut back to some light bushcrafting. Which, I think the BK10 is better at than the BK2. Its lighter weight doesn't fatigue my hand as quickly, the clip point is perfect for divots, and boring. Throw in a good size blade most tasks, and you gotta bushier craftier knife. It doesn't even come close to chopping like the BK2, and can't take as much lateral force as the BK2, steel physics says so, I haven't broken either one, don't think I ever will.
I took the chickenshit road, I got one for using and one put up, for later generations to enjoy. I don't think my user BK10 will be gone, but I bet BOTH my daughters are gonna want one. So, one gets "Dad's" the other gets new. I'm sure they will fight over it, and yes, they will spill blood. Nothing serious, but it will be fierce for a moment or two.
I generally do that for all their knives, but I've noticed, they are gonna decide for themselves which one they like better.
I say you will have to decide what to do with it, mon frere, they are your knives. I like to use, but we are talking one of 180, which has now been changed, since we modders got them, so, safe guess, I would say one of 170. Never to be seen again, Camillus steel, Kabar manufacture, Ethan's Design, and a Beckerhead exclusive release. Only 180 or less ever existed. yar.
Food for thought.
