would you guys recommend sharpening a bk2/10 with a spyderco triangle sharpmaker?

You could probably sharpen it on your calluses lol. But seriously the Spyderco would work fine

He can strop it with his hands!!! Black compound is all you'll ever need.

Wait... I have a question. Do you guys recommend sharpening knives at all...

Never sharpen a bk2!!!!! It will cause extreme bodily damage when it flies at someones head.

Depends on your current edge angle.
If any reprofiling needs done, I'd suggest the diamond rods.
But yeah, I sharpen all my Beckers with the Sharpmaker.

This thread needs a pic
My 2, with a 20\20 degree convex compliments of the WorkSharp

How do you sharpen it with the Sharpmaker? How many degrees do you recommend?

Most factory edges are 20° so use the SM's "40° Edge" slots to match.

You'll need the SM's Diamond or CBN rods if the edge is dull or damaged or you want to reprofile it. The standard rods are too fine for such work. (Medium is 15 micron/1000 mesh. Fine is 6 micron/2400 mesh.)

Thanks Travis for the helpful info.

Mine sharpens its self when I'm whoring it and destroying structures...

Good to know, not all the times I can bring the Sharpmaker LOL... :foot:

Why not? It's not particularly large or heavy. BTW, I've found the CBN rods work very well and are way more durable than the diamond rods.

I went with the CBN rods because of that. IIRC, Sal said they used a different process so that the CBN material stays attached longer than the Diamonds do.

The work sharp definitely puts a insanely sharp edge on the bk2. I've used a combination of sandpaper over a mouse pad, and Ken onion work sharp blade grinder to make my bk2 crazy sharp.
