How do you maintain the edge on the 24?

With 1095CV, a regular bout of good stropping seems to suffice as long as you don't let it get very dull.

But, with the D2, does stropping do any good? Do you just wait until it gets dull and then put in the hours to get it back to razor sharp?

I'm not anywhere near dull now, but if a little time in the present will save me hours in the future, I'd like to know and get to it.

I just strop my 24 after use. So far, I've only used it for food prep and some cardboard. But I have yet to actually 'sharpen' it.

I don't like stropping D2. I like a toothy edge on it. I don't over strop any of my knives really. ONly compound I use anymore is coarse Black. If I find D2 is getting little dull just usually give it a couple hits on a DMT fine stone. Sometimes even course. Then 2-3 swipes each side on a black compound strop. I'll strop 1095,s30v,elmax ect but never really seen D2 benefit from stropping really. Toothier is better for D2 IMO cause seems if it's stroped loses it's sharpness quicker than if you just left it toothy.
