BK24 D'Eskabar Video

$80 isn't bad, I mean for some reason I was thinking more along the 100 dollar mark (MSRP not street). I guess that'd mean they'd be out on the street for $50-$60. Never had any D2 blades and if there are as rust resistant as people say they are...

suh wheet.

they say it's a semi-stainless, but i've been trying hard, using the knife in mixed environments, esp cutting meat, and ... nothing. no rust, stains. same beauty finish.

i'm thinking to try a SLIGHTLY steeper angle to make it more slicey, but so far, after 9 months? i haven't touched the edge. still *ouch* sharp.

There is a reason that D2 is Bob Dozier's "Go To" steel.....It is a bit pricey but, in my mind, it is the 1095CV of stainlesses......I.e., it costs a hell of a lot more to get any better..... A hell of a lot more...... T'is mighty fine steel and the blade is a proven platform...... A pretty good deal at 80 bucks full retail......

For what it is worth, as a designer, I have had mixed experiences with what happens when production starts - even when I was in charge of production........ This blade makes the designer happy, actually very happy.......A really useful blade, a sensible upgrade in quality and a reasonable cost......Yay......

How do you make the best neck knife better?

ETA: ToOoj should do late night radio......

Any word on when they will start appearing on wholesaler's shelves?

Not that I don't like KaBar, or anything... I'm just allergic to buying retail!

Awesome to hear! Daily carrying a Benchmade Bone Collector in D2, I'm very impressed with the steel and eager to get a Becker in it as well.

I'll buy one when they get up here, I'll have to bug Jay at Warriors and wonders in Vancouver to see how soon he can get them.

D2 is a really quality steel, I'm really pumped about this. I edc an izula2 and carry a bk11 in a pack regularly so i havent felt much of a need to pickup the 14.

The 14 in D2 though? hell yes. I guess D2 is technically a carbon steel (right?), but for all practical purposes, I've found it to be extraordinarily resistent.

Seems to be a very reasonable price to me, but thats just my 2 cents.

For the guys that EDC a 14, this is going to be must have. D2 nicely convexed is incredible.

I was thinking it would MSRP for higher as well but I'm pleasantly surprised

I'm really excited to see one of these and it sounds like I will be holding off on my 14 til I can find one in D2. :)

+1 to everything said here. I'm very excited about the D2. My 14 will continue to be my EDC, but the 24 is going in my pack.

After carrying the 14 for a few months now, I absolutely love it! The 14 in D2 is definitely on my short list...
