I see where sufler asked about a Becker for the car. Thought I'd show a kit I've been building around the BK3, picking up the occasional item here and there. The bag is from countycomm and was designed as a grab-and-go bag that could be stored under a truck seat. My kit is intended as something I could grab in case of a road emergency and render useful aid.

The items show below are: Becker BK3, Leatherman Surge, serrated Spyderco D'Allara, first aid kit with trauma shears, duct tape, Surefire G2 LED, paracord, emergency blankets, gloves and safety glasses, emergency poncho, nitrile gloves, road flares. As you can see, there's still a little room in the bag for stuff, and there are molle options, so I'm open to suggestions.

Hey Flexxx, thanks. And thanks for the sig line. Nothing like a little extra exposure for my wetter. :D

Looks handy. What would you think of a mini fire extinguisher? I don't know if they make them small enough to be portable yet useful, but that might be handy in a roadside emergency.

Otherwise, as long as you know what to do with your FAK it looks like a solid set up. Good on you for being prepped not just for yourself but for your fellow human beings too

FG, you're right. A small fire extinguisher would be a good idea. There is one in my truck tool box along with other essentials like jumper cables, a tow chain, some basic tools, etc. But I think fire extinguisher would certainly go into the emergency category. I probably ought to look for a small version for the bag. That would probably just about top it out though.

Another thing I want to add is some QuickClot bandages for the first aid kit.

You probably already have flares in the truck too. If not, a couple would fit in there. Nice kit and a great idea.

tradewater... yeah, there's a three-pack of 15-minute flares in there.

Nope. See above. That's one thing I still want to add.

maxipads too - pressure bandages...

got a flashing strober too?

been meaning for years to get one of those super LED road strobes. esp the blue one ;)

looks like a good kit. i might suggest waterproof paper and a space pen, possibly a whislte?

perhaps a disposable film camera (take pictures of scene before having to move anything; someone would find that handy at some point maybe)... then again, that could be a liability... mmm.

oh, chocks. solid chocks. you might need something to hold say, a door panel open a bit, while you go in deeper with the prybar. move the chocks along, get a better reach in. perhaps cutting board material?

gorilla tape. lots and lots...

orange safety vest (with light), and a hat... might as well look the part.

one bottle of water (at least), sugar/candy, protein bar?

As far as car kits go, that looks pretty damn good, brother. Not a bad idea to put one together; I may have to follow suit.

My only suggestion would be to stuff a few dollars in there (small bills, maybe up to $100 in fives, tens, twenties) as a just-in-case fund. Running out of gas sucks ass, and a lot of taxi drivers generally aren't credit card friendly. Don't need a spare set of 007-forged documents/passports and $10k stashed in a false bottom or anything, just some get-home money. Along the same lines, maybe toss a $10 or $15 pre-paid calling card in there for good measure.

Otherwise, that sure is a nice kit.

I would add a couple of ziplock bags, some snack type things, and maybe some water if you can find a way to make it fit.

Do you have a hemostatic agent (Celox or Quickclot) in your first aid kit? It is looking pretty good.

A note on hemostatics, to my knowledge these are all harmful...

They are basically creating a massive chemical burn that has to be surgically removed. I don't see them as necessary for a vehicle based trauma kit in the states. The last thing you want is to save someones life by using your celox or quickclot to stop their femoral bleed, only to have them sue you for the scars the surgical removal made

One thing I've kept in my car kits is a pre paid cell phone and AA powered charger, some cash, a photo copy of my mil ID(front only) DL, insurance card, AAA membership card
