Today I bought a BK39, the clear coat version of the Bk9. It's my first Becker. I haven't had chance to use it really, but I love how it feels in hand, and how surprisingly light and fast it feels. I'm looking forward to using it.

I'll believe it when you provide photographic evidence...
😁

Congrats man!
You'll soon be, if not already, plotting your next Becker purchase!

I can't do photographs sorry - I'm a dinosaur! Posting on here at all is quite a feat for me!

I just picked up my first Becker about a week ago and is also a Bk39. Love how this thing chops and keeps a great edge.

Welcome to the Becker forum......Thank you for buying a Becker Blade(you too, vg10 lover) and I hope you get a chance to get some "dirt time" with it soon...please let us know how it performs for you......

Wow! That was a surprise. Thank you Mr Becker, I will do.
I was so impressed to hear from you in person that I've ordered another! - only the little Remora to go in the sheath for now, it's all I can afford!

I would have preferred a more subdued colour, but I can live with them. I don't think after market scales are available over here.

Congrats on the new 39. It's a great blade and incredibly versatile for a such a large knife. The brighter scale colours were intentionally chosen so that the knife could be easily found if dropped in the field.

Quoted for truth. There are numerous people here that prefer the pretty pink scales for the shear visibility of them! (or that's what they tell people....).

I love my BK-39, I replaced the bright scales with the factory micarta ones because they are easier to chop with.

If you can't find micarta scales in the UK, you can take a piece of bicycle inner-tube and stretch it over the bright scales for a better grip (and hide the color).

That's a good idea, I may well do that. It's not that I really mind the green, I can live with them, I would just have chosen a more drab colour if there was a choice. I really like the knife !

I think that toxic green is so overdone at this point. Yuck! Someone at Kabar loves the zombie green, that's for sure.

Can we get some orange scales, PLEASE! :D

I'm with you. If I'm gonna have brightly colored scales for visibility, I like orange. Mostly, I like the subdued colors like gray, brown, olive, etc... The coyote on the tweeners is perfect.

I took the knife out last evening, just to try it out, a little fun, nothing serious. I found it very comfortable to hold and it transferred very little shock when chopping.
It easily chops through thumb thickness branches in one swing. That is so satisfying. I tried it on green ash, which was easy. Then I tried it on hard, dry, dead oak. It bit well and was effective. The edge held up well with no damage at all.
No pictures sorry, but I love this knife. Thank you Mr Becker.
