So - the BK15 (one of my favorites) was discontinued, and prices are going way up.
The BK4 is starting to disappear from the usual retail channels - All I can say is buy one now.

Do IT!!!:D

It has always been way back in the far corner of my mind. Never thought I needed it, had plenty of other blades to use in its place (9 anyone?). Then I held it. It has great balance for light chopping. It has great balance for up close and fine work. Simply put, I look forward to making this my one-knife solution for longer hikes.

Do IT!!!

and one last thing.

Do IT!!!

(This public service announcement was not in any way paid for or sanctioned by Becker, KaBar, or any other reputable company. The opinions expressed are solely those of this recent convert. Should you get the BK4 and love it so much as to name your first born after me, foofie probably is not a good name to go through life. I would suggest Hezekial instead. Or we can split the difference and settle on Machax. Hezekial will still be a good middle name)

I got mine the same way, didn't think I would ever need it, but got it because it is going away and is a good deal right now. And after using it, WOW, what another great blade from BK&T, love mine.

BTW, I renamed my first born to BK4. ;)

You could just name your firstborn Becker and cover all your bases.

But only after you get yourself a Machax. It is a must have, IMO - one of my most frequently used big Beckers.

I got mine recently with the bk20, it wasn't on my list but it does intrigue me. I look forward to checking it out more but with the 9, 20 and 21 already it's going to have tough competition.

I tried calling my first-born "Ethan" last night. She did not appreciate it. Oh well.

I just hit "SEND" on my order for a BK4. My curiosity about this design got the better of me.

I plan on this replacing a poorly functioning kukri that wants to twist rather than cut. If the BK$ lives up to expectation there is going to be a lot of work in its future.

Excited to get it in my hands and learn the different ways this blade can be used.

Lol nice

I really like the 4 and they 5 - so much so that I have back-ups for the back-ups and might even get trepidation about using the primary; then I think: I'm not going to live forever and Uncle Ethan likes his knives to be used!

Beckers are tough knives that will provides lifetimes of reliable service if not abused, though some stand up pretty well to clear, unambiguous and even obnoxious abuse. The BK4 is a unique design that works well in so many facets that it's a hard knife not to like. Oh, and it looks cool!
