Went back down south this past weekend, as the weather was supposed to be pretty good. After 91bravo's BK4 usage photos, it inspired me to get the 4 back out and use it. Been awhile since I have.

Gathered up a bit of wood for the stove. The day started out sunny:

Started clouding up, but at least it never rained:

The ol' girl did good:

Wife used her Gerber to chop some more firewood up. Yes, that is duct tape on her shoe, haha. Last time we were there, the sole of her shoe came off, so she taped it up, and decided to keep that pair at the cabin for getting dirty, etc:

She did use her BK4 to baton with:

Good shot of her duct tape work. Damn she's good:

We took a break, and had a few rum and Cokes:

Went out early Sunday, and decided to gather some more wood. This piece was thicker, so I decided to use the E-nep:

But did baton with the 4:

A little tip, the small screwdriver tip on the can opener of my SAK, works great to tighten up a loose bolt on the scales. Snugged it right up:

A nice fit:

Whittled on a small chunk of cedar I found. Cedar sure is beautiful wood. Smells great too:

The weather was so nice Sunday. It peaked at around 62°. We were ready to do a hike at the Tiemann Shut-Ins, but my neighbor showed up unexpectedly, so we had a nice talk for about an hour, before we left. Didn't do a lot besides hike and take photos. Wanted to do more, but never did.

The hike to shut-ins:

It's mostly paved, until you get to the river. It's wheelchair friendly:

My trusty slinger. A cheapo, but it's been a fairly decent bag:

We were going to get the Emberlit fired up. I cleared off a place to get it going, but we decided not to. For one, we had eaten a bit earlier, but mostly, it was windy, and there were lots of dry pine needles, and leaves around. Kind of disappointing really, as I had a new fire starting system I haven't used yet. Maybe next time:

Like I said, we didn't do what we had planned, but it was still a great weekend out. Thanks for looking.

Awesome pics! That area looks like the Little River Canyon area down here by us. The river and the rocks, but our water doesn't have a green tint to it. Nice pair of 4s and man I want a bk15 something bad! Tell your wife don't forget about me if she wants to sell!

Excellent! That looks like a really cool place to walk around. Pretty good looking BK-4s, too.

Thanks for another great thread.

Thanks man. It's a beautiful area, and only a few miles from the cabin.

She won't sell, haha.

Thanks man. It's so pretty there. We haven't hiked the whole thing yet. Looking forward to doing so though.

Say Heah Boy's and Girl's, Yeah, I bought my BK-4 primarily as a chopper, only to find out my BK-9 was a better chopper, I also had the BK-5 that I teamed up with my BK-15, I find I can do everything with the BK-5 I can with my BK-7 and it's lighter. But then I got the Limited Edition and I almost missed out on it because I thought the price would go down and I wasn't in any rush because I had the BK-4 and the BK-5, But boy am I glad I bought the Limited Edition just to have a beauty in my Bundok BK-20, that dwarf's my BK-9. Anyhow having two sets of 4's and 5's, I use my BK-4 as a large knife and that's where I find it shines. Yeah, I teamed one of mine with my BK-2 and it turned out to be a great combo. Both knives I sharpened on a Work Sharp , infact one of my friends can carve a spoon with my BK-2. So yeah, the two make a great combo for me. Both can chop, and both can cut, But the leverage and size of the BK-4 allow's me to do some moderate chopping which I think work's good then. I like the span on it to process kindling if I have to baton, yeah, the smaller stuff the BK-2 can handle that too. But clearing through some brambles, I find the BK-4 work's great at that, so teaming my BK-4 with my BK-2 was a good idea for me. Absolutly I would buy a BK-4 again if I didn't have one and had the experience I have with it. As a large knife to team up with a smaller knife the BK-4 shines. ,, .

Dual BK4's. Awesome.

Nice hike, looks like a beautiful place to bum around. Love the pics of the rapids. Thanks for sharing.

I finally found a new bk15! Will pair perfectly with my bk5 for a woods combo and can't wait to whip em out to play with!

Awesome post as always Warrior. Thanks for sharing.

I was just telling my wife that you found one, and the pressure was off to sell hers, haha. It's a nice blade, fo sho. I liked the "tweeners", but the handles are too small for my mitts. I had a saber 16, and gave it to my son. He loves it. I later bought a 17, knowing the handles were too small, but just had to confirm. :p

Yeah me too, I bought that 4,5 and 20 combo last year and ended up only keeping the 5. Now I wish I didn't sell that 20!

Me too. Gave my wife the 4, sold the 5, and 20. All I have left is the 1, 2, 2, 2, 4, 9, 11, 13, 14, and proto. :D
