BK5 Sheath Issue

Got my 5 in a few days ago and I love the blade. Absolutely amazing performer on so many different tasks. And I love carrying this knife for work. But there is just one thing that makes that so hard to do and that is the sheath.

As far as materials, the sheath is fine. I think it will definitely last a while. On this particular sheath, there is no stitching or piece that is square, but I don't really care about that. It's a working knife. My major gripe is that whenever I move, the rattle from the sheath is so loud that it is completely obnoxious. I've never had any problems with my similar sheaths but this one is crazy. I guess it's because of the blade shape and how thin the knife is.

So I was wondering if anybody had found a remedy for this with the factory sheath?
I've tried a few things but none of them have worked. I do not have $65-$80 to spend on a kydex sheath either. If I'm going to spend that kind of money on something knife related, I'd like it to be a knife...

I was also wondering if anyone on here had experience with the spec ops basic modular sheath and this knife. Seeing as that is a rarely reasonable price at around $35 compared to $70.

Any and all input on the matter would be appreciated, thanks.

Next time I'm out I'll grab some leather and try that. For now I tried a similar thing with a piece of wood. Don't know how long it will last but it's doing the trick for now. Not very elegant though.

I just cut 2 pieces of cardboard down to size and slid them into the sheath. Slip the knife between them and it holds really well, don't even need the button strap to hold it in. I'm sure there's a better, "correct" way to fix it but for me this works fine and it was free.

I need to point out that the newer sheaths have the liners sewn in differently. The 5 and 7 have very similar if not the same sheaths. MUCH easier to remove the newer style sheaths because they don't have the "ears" on the sides.

I avoided using anything that might hold moisture like cardboard or leather. I shimmed with plastic from milk carton.

I've found a solution that works for me. It cost nothing and took 2 minutes.

I was walking around at work (a large family owned produce farm) and saw a large sheet of thick, heavy duty plastic that was probably used in some kind of packaging at some point over the last 20 years. Anyways I cut a piece of it to length, folded over one end and slid it into the sheath with the fold slid behind the liner. It works really well. No rattle, no chance of the knife falling out, no water retention. Ticks all of the right boxes. Thanks for all the replies guys.
