Decided to strip the pain off of my BK5, it was starten to look a lil crappy from lost of paint.

I wrapped the handle and swede in electrical tape in order to protect the paint in those areas, then used two applications of "Ctristrip" and a razor blade to remove the paint.

Sanded off remaining finish.

Cut liners out of the sides of a laundry detergent bottle.

Started a patina finish on the blade with some vinegar and mango juice.

Glad to see you decided to keep it. Looks like you did a good job with getting that ding out!

It looks PRETTY now! Makes me want one...

Dude, that is one pretty BK5! Thanks for sharing it with us. I'm glad you kept it and had some fun with it!!

Me likey. I'm digging that patina. The true randomness makes it look like an earned patina as opposed to a forced patina.

Every time I see a BK5 I get more tempted. If I can get some things accomplished in June, I may have to reward myself.
