I was looking for a BK5 availability for some one and they seem to be pretty well far gone for availability now.

Found two sites that have them in stock around the $90 dollar mark.

Figured some people who been thinking of getting one might want to know its availability is pretty low now.

Mine I decided to keep as I know there will be some big critter cutting that will needed to be done this year.

Almost seems as the popularity/demand for particular Becker knife is triggered by KaBar discontinuing that knife - evidence the BK-15.

Could not get 55 Bucks shipped for a BK5 last year as I ended up with more than a few with the BK20 package deal, who would of thunk you get a BK20,BK5,and a BK4 for the cost of a single TUKO (scratches Head) remember people complaining about 200 for a trio now a BK20 is a steal at 200 by itself, times they are a changing good luck in your hunt.

Yes, I remember not that along ago, before it was dropped, that lots of people said they didn’t like the 15 which was very surprising to me at the time. I feel like it performs great!

I’m with you, many people complained and complained about the $200 price and didn’t see any value in the 4 and 5. Again I couldn’t understand their thinking. I like having doubles of Beckers if you can get them cheap. Would love to get some more of those deals!

I have 1 bk5. I am hoping it will last a lifetime! Is that silly/stupid? If they make a custom shop version id be all over that though!

Now that they are more scarce the price obviously goes up. That's just how it goes. I love the Machax and the 5. It still sucks they are discontinued.

Man isn’t that the truth!! Complaining about that killer deal. Glad I got one of them which was a good chance to try the 4 and get another 5!

I bought 2 when they were just over $50. Used one last week to clear a local trail that had grown over, it makes short work of vines and small limbs. I wonder why they discontinued them, I guess most people preferred the thick choppers.

+1 on that. I bought just one several months ago, not understanding why they were so cheap compared to the other full size models. Guess I got lucky

I found several places still had BK5s but I had to post and watch the exchange and pay a bit of a premium for a spare BK15 ...

but I use the BK5 and BK15 alot for butchering and bbq ... so had a couple of each ... but wanted a spare set to put back ... I would probably be looking for a custom maker to build me a 15 like if I hadn't found one ... I use my 15s for everything!

That's just human psychology. There's a reason why, in marketing, they love terms like "white supplies last" and "at this price, they won't last long" etc... Costco has built a multi-billion dollar business out of it. If any of you are members, you know damn well that when you see a certain shirt you want, you better buy it because there is no guarantee it'll be in stock next time you walk through the door.

Think about the ammo panic in 2013-2014. It took years to recover. People started going nuts grabbing the most popular rounds of ammo. .22LR availability suffered the worst and longest, but there was a good long while that 9mm, .40S&W, .45ACP, .223 and .308 were scarce as well.

It's an interesting psychological phenomenon. People suddenly panic if they feel like they can't have something they didn't really want in the first place...

Heck, I do that with my kid all the time. "You don't want to eat your salmon... well ok, I'll give it to the dog..." which is always followed by "No!!! No!!! i want it!!!!"

Bk5 is available at online realtors. I'm not sure if I can mention the name but it's a fairly known site with us knife knuts.
