I batonned through some black walnut with my BK9. It was some tough stuff too. That's a cool little stove.

Thanks,It was some tough wood but the bk7 handled it.

I just could never really justify getting a 7. I have the 2, 10, and 9, so I didn't see a place for it. Not saying it isn't a sweet blade, just never saw a need for it.

Kinda how I feel too but I'll probably get one anyway. I've never actually held one, so I want to be fair. :D

I love the BK7.Not to big and not to small. Not new to knives have a bunch.Have bigger Knives than the BK7.I am new to the becker line. The BK7 was my first and it has impressed the heck out of me.The price point is perfect compared to other knives i have and it is built like a tank.It will be on its first field trip this weekend. If i need to do any big chopping i will use my axe.But will make short work batoning with my BK7

Interesting comment. I feel the same about the 9. I like it and all that, but I have an old Brute that hacks the wood up pretty decently. So I have never been able to justify a seven or nine, particularly when I have so many big choppers, or various sized pieces. I do however still have 3-4 old Beckers that get used and appreciated.
