BK7 BK9 Horizontal Sheath Interest

Tossing around the idea of a horizontal/scout sheath for the 7 and 9. Wondering if there is any interest for them or if I'm off daydreaming again.

Like one of my bk2's but bigger, Let me know what you think

Most definetly an interest.

I'm not a big Scout Carry kinda guy, but there are quite a few folks that have asked about it in the past.

Nice lookin' work too. What weight is that leather?

Thanks Moose, That's 8-9 ounce, fun to sew through 5 or 6 layers of it. Maybe I will make one up for the 9 this week just for giggles and see if it's like having a short sword strapped to your rear

I got saddled with some 13oz stuff a while back and I'm still using it to build mine. 4 layers thick on my M1 with a firesteel, 7/8" thick. Not fun to sew. If I made one for a 9 (again), I would probably not be able to type for a week.

I wanna go back to the 8-9oz leather, but eh, I'm gonna use this thick ass stuff until its gone. Since I'm not making sheaths anymore (well, for me I am), then it might last forever :(

You could always make a few for me if your really looking to get rid of it Moose, I would be glad to be of help taking it off your hands lol.
 
I think those sheaths would be awesome. If you get around to making them I'd give it a try for my 9
 
Dunno about anyone else but I wear my BK9 (or BK2) horizontally on my weak side. Scout would be good too, I'm sure but I find cross-draw to be very comfortable and convenient.

I never thought about carrying them like that. I'll have to give that a try too

Yep I carry my BK2 horizontal cross draw.
 
I'll post one up when I get it made. Might go with the 7 I can't think of what to do with the middle for the 9 as far as a pouch goes....well wait maybe,, hmm I need some paper.
 
I've made a few scout carry sheaths for the 9, and only 2 (working on the third now) for the 7. I actually really liked the scout for the 9, but I made another sheath for my 9 that I like more. :)

I'd love to see what you come up with. :thumbup:
