Hi all,
1. the chamber of BK7 sheath is longer than blade inserted. what's the reason for this design?
2. the chamber of BK9 sheath just fits the blade length. Other brands also make the chamber length fit with the balde.
3. which blade is able to fit the front pocket? a 2 inch Remora maybe?

I think the reason the blade sleeve is longer than the 7’s blade is Kabar used the same sheath for the 5, which has a longer blade.
Thanks. But on the lable of BK7 sheath, it says "BK7". I didn't take picture of the "BK7" wording on the back, I previously thought it was normal. I will do a picture later on, or you may find that on your own copy. Mine copy is the latest version.

Fabric tags are cheaper than separate sheath production lines.
I suspect it's just easier to use the same complete sheath for both and accept a little space inefficiency on the 7's.

While the large BK-sheaths have improved quite a bit and are functional out of the box, they are definitely not a high-end accessory. So if they're saving money there it's not a surprise to me, given the BK line's price point.

The BK-Shorts are similar: same sheath for all short-model blade lengths. I appreciate this, as there's just one model and easy to use it for a variety of things. and BTW, I think the BK-short sheaths are an excellent product and a fantastic value (and you won't hear me hyping offshored products very often).

Of course I can also see how someone might find it annoying. *shrug*
