I would like to buy or have made two Bk7 blanks/trainers (non sharp practice blades) as we have seen used in one of the demo videos. Would like to practice knife skills without the danger of cutting my fingers off.

Would like very similar profile of bk7 and has to fit the bk handles. Anyone have a source or know who could make such an item?

Thanks!!

How about just buying a BK7 and then dulling the edge with a sharpening stone or rod?

Doesn't take much, just a few strokes across a stone/rod and it won't be a serious danger.

Real or a blank, it'll still be heavy and won't be pleasurable when whacked with it. ;)

What he said. The price of shop rates would probably exceed that of a factory blade.
Plus you can resharpen it if you ever want to. Even sell it if you need to. Maybe a good used one could save a few bucks, if you can find one.

Well....you could just trace and cut them out of mild steel (like the kind from the big box home improvement stores) with a jigsaw....but that also might be a lot of work. Plus, you'd need a drill, and files to clean them up......

......nevermind.

TravisH hit the nail on the head. A falsie won't have the same balance unless it's the same dimensions w/ cutouts and grind. Expensive to do, just buy a spare. And for all that's good and holy (to you), paint the dull one orange!!
