Just got my BK7, and I'm pretty impressed. Perfect balance and ideal handle shape. This is the biggest knife I own. I would not have previously believed a knife could chop as well as this thing does. I choose the BK7 from among all the Beckers, because I feel like it's the perfect size for a large, do-it-all camp/woods knife while not too big to be cumbersome to carry. It will also be useful for stuff around the house. Knife came really sharp and with a good sheath. I'm a value shopper, and I can't imagine a better hard-use knife for the money. Count me in the great knife camp!

Congrats, man. It's an awesome thing when you get a blade, and it's exactly what you wanted.

Congratulations. The seven is an awesome blade. It's one I don't use much but wish I did.

The Little Black Dress of the BKT world. What a versatile knife, equally at home at the gala or the campfire

You got a gem, brother.....use it like it owes you money......

And post pics....

Welcome aboard and congratulations on the BK7; it's a great choice.

Boats, aircraft and knives share common design challenges - as the design caters to one function, it does so at the expense of others. There is no one single boat, a/c or knife that does everything wonderfully; if there was - everyone would just go out and buy that one!

So, given the inevitability of design functionality compromise one could wind up with several boats, several planes or many, many knives; don't ask me how I know this.

So, a design challenge and, for the end user, a financial challenge is to get as much functionality over as a broad a spectrum of tasks (mission profiles) as possible for the least amount of dollars both in acquisition and in costs of use. (Think drag racing engine that's spent after several runs or the razors we shave with.)

I said all of that to say this - you made a great choice with the BK-7.

Great choice, the bk7 is an excellent knife.

If I could only have one becker knife, it would probably be the bk7, luckily I'm not limited to one.

The 7 really is the do it all of the line. That's one of the Becker line I have had multiples of. Whenever someone I know needs a really good knife I end up giving them the 7. Probably explains why I don't have one right now. Hmmm

I often compare by 7 to my 91 Toyota pickup with the excellent 4-cylinder engine.
Well designed, very little maintenance is needed and they do what they were designed to do.
Basically as reliable as an iron skillet. You are not gonna really hurt the thing unless you outright horridly abuse it or neglect it long term.
What else does one need ?????

It's a great knave too.
Good all-'rounder.

Not sure what you do 'around the house' that a BK-7 would be appropriate for, but go nuts! Not really, I mean a knave going nuts with a knife can be serious trouble.

Put it to use, and PICS!

Great knife. The 7 was my gateway to the Becker world. It is my "if you only could have one knife" choice.

Enjoy........ and we need pics :)

The next little tree I need to cut down this spring will be cut with the BK7 -- just because I can. :)

Just thinking -- I can prune my hedges now with a BK-7 instead of a chainsaw. ;)

BK7 is next on the list. Had a Camillus BK7 but knew would like a Kabar BK7 more so traded it. Nice knife though. Good choice.

The BK7 is a great knife and was actually my first Becker. I have one of the Camillus versions. It is still going strong. i have given her a new skirt, one of the forum members here made a kydex sheath for her for me and she has been happy ever since. She seen camping, chopping, kitchen duty and back yard and yes even mirror playtime. She has done the no no and pryed she has hacked apart joints on frozen foods and been a damn good tool over the years. You made a good choice and received a great knife. enjoy it.

Looks like I have no way to upload a pic. Not sure how y'all do that here.
