I just received my brand new BK7. The knife is awesome. Probably the most durable, well made knife for the money. Unfortunately, the knife completely rattles around in the plastic insert in the sheath. Does anyones elses BK7 do this? Any ideas how to fix it? For such a nice knife, I don't understand why they didn't do better on the sheath?

After re-reading my post, I want to clarify something. I like the sheath in theory. I just don't like my knife to rattle in the insert. Is this normal? Can I fix it?

heat up sheath, get kydex piable, stick in knife, mold kydex to blade.
Mine rattles a bit too, I only notice it when it is unsnapped.

Try a heat gun.

I don't know if this normal but one of mine rattled and the other did not. The rattling stopped if I turned the knife in the sheath like I was going to use it as a "lefty". So I just popped out the kydex insert, turned it so that the knife fit snug on my right side, and used a shot of hot-glue it refasten the insert.

“Problem” solved. :D

I know mine rattles too but I can't remember if it only rattles when secured or not. Right now it's all boxed up--I'm sending it out to get a kydex sheath. It is a great sheath, but I wanted to do an inverted shoulder rig kinda thing with it. As I mentioned in a different thread, the other thing about the sheath that kinda bothered me was that the snap seems to snap the wrong way for right-handed people...I prefer to be able to release the snap by pushing on it with my thumb as I draw the knife. This orientation of the snap/strap makes that a little more difficult.

The thread below talks about modifying the sheath so it doesn't ride as low (if anyone's interested).
