safety first on that hawk swinging :) the shorter the tool, the more easy to whack oneself on the miss...

What IS that 'hawk??? very interesting...I like the Bushman ''spear'' as well :)
 
that bushman spear is a HOSS... it throws like it was made for it (it was :) ) and after stabbing about 30 different trees, there is almost no scuffing on the finish and it's still sharp as hell

Made it using an oak rake handle from Home depot... the wood is INCREDIBLY strong.

The hawk is a United M48. I fully reprofiled the edge to a hair popping convex, and after chopping for a good 30 minutes, it's still shaving sharp.

Convex = PURE WIN

Did you paint the hawk? That's a sweet color. What type of paint did you use?

You don't happen to know its weight do you?
