BK7 Replacement?

I was longing to buy a BK7 for a long time - then Camillus went out of business. Well, now that I have the money, the knife is gone.

What would be an 'equivalent' replacement for this knife? Something in a similar price point and performance?

Thanks.

what kind of price are looking at?

when i bought my BK7's they were in the $40.00 range.

i'd look into what tom has at Chestnut Ridge Knife Shop.

All Tom lists is the BK-77 at $285.

BK-7's are going in the $150 range on eBay.

Your best bet is to find an out-of-the-way cutlery shop where prices haven't inflated. There were reports recently of such finds regarding a Brute and a Campanion, I think.

i was thinking of an 'equivalent' replacement.

as with Tom's ONTARIO KNIFE COMPANY line.

The RAT 7 would make a nice knife for folks that are a fan of the BK 7. the price of the RAT 7 is a little higher than the $50.00 range, but is well worth the money.

1095 High carbon steel, full tang construction.
The knife is also available in D2 (another step up in price)
These knives come standard with micarta handles, a big plus.
Blade length 6.5"
Overall length 12"
Lifetime warranty

The knife carries well and is built for rugged use.

PS: keep you eye out for the RC-3, this is the first knife in the new RAT line Jeff and Mike are putting out.
