My BK7 is one of my favorite Beckers. Either first, or second, maybe third, but it is up there and I really enjoy using it.

The factrory sheath has never been one of its strong suits. Very useable but it needed something done to it. I saw IA Woodsman make his BK17 sheath into a dangler and thought I would do the same to the BK7 sheath, here are the pics, pretty self explanatory.

Original,

Here I cut a slit into the Dring, and shaved off a bit of one corner so that corner would slide thru both factory installed grommets already in sheath.

In this photo, I have already ripped the factrory threads out, where the top of the sheath folds over, laid it out flat, and will start the Dring in through the grommets

Sewing.

I decided to use brown thread here instead of black, because I didn't have any :). I used heavy waxed leather sewing thread.

I then sewed a piece of nyon webbing to make the belt loop, Didn't take any pics of that, here it is ready to try out.

This sheath will still work like a regular belt sheath, just depends where you put the belt through. Should make a nice dangler.

Thanks for looking, thought I might share the process.

Nice work. I prefer my sheath to ride low. I feel it's easier to draw. At least, for me it is.

Yep, I'm with you, I may not of changed how much lower this will be on my belt. The problem I had with the sheath was the lenght, and it stayed pretty well perpendicular to my belt line. I think this will make it alot more comfy, and let it hang nice and straight to the ground. I really like danglers.

Great job on the sheath mod. I do something similar to all mine as well. I make/bend my own D-rings & use belt keepers for attachment.

Im one of those folks that feel any knife bigger than a tweener, needs a dangler sheath. Nice mod man.

Trust me, it was absolute dumb luck I had a package of Drings that fit the exact width and fit the grommets perfect. I went out to the woods today for some woods time, and I love this sheath now (as far as useability goes). Danglers just make such great sheathes.
