Saw these two blades at some surplus shop and considered picking one of them up. Just curious how these two compare against each other. Both are made by Ka-bar and are around the same price range. Here's some specs:

Heavy Bowie
Weighs 0.8 lbs.
blade is 7 3/8" long
overall length 12 5/8"
1095 Carbon Steel
FULL Flat Grind
Bowie Shape
Kraton G Handle

BK7
Weight: 0.85 lbs
Steel: 1095 cro-van
Blade Length: 7
Overall Length: 12-3/4
Grind: Flat
Handle Grivory
Knife Made in the USA

couple questions
#1 grivory handle or kraton handle?
#2 1095 crovan or 1095 carbon?

#3 which should I get

They are both great knives, it comes down to personal preference I'd say. Handle both knives it they let you at that shop and I think the decision will be easier. The Kraton feels a lot different from the Grivory handles. The HB has 1085 btw (not a big help I know;))

A used a lot the Bk7, also handled the Ka-bar. I say get the BK7.

I say the BK7, and if you do not like the feel, and if you want to spend a little more at about $40, then get the micarta grips for the 7, it makes it feel like a new knife and I like the grip. I do not like the sheaths that come with either but they are useable.

Get the BK7 nothing against the kabar bowie but if you find the handle scales of the BK7 slippery or too thick just make some new ones or alter the handles it came with (or buy the aftermarket scales) .
