I can't speak for the BK7, but there is no discernible difference between the old and new BK9 except that the latter is just slightly thinner. Thinner is not an improvement, and I whined like a baby about it in another thread, but I bought a new BK9 and it looks and feels just like the old one. Point being that I don't notice the slight diminution in width. I don't have the numbers off the top of my head, but its minimal and not worth crying about (like I did
