Well I have a 77 that I have used to split some wood, it does good as expected but I do not have a bk7 to compare it to. I would honestly rather have a 7 just because of the ease of sharpening with the 1095 vs. The S30v on the 77. I suppose it would be good if you were going to be around water or humid climates.
