Hi all,
Did a field test with my son yesterday with various blades for chopping, limbing and batoning - post can be seen here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=743392
The reason for this post in the Becker forum is to comment specifically on how the BK9 performed overall. The BK9 and Junglas did all the tasks in the test extremely well, but the BK9 came out the big winner for me. The micarta handles really made the difference for how it felt in my hand. Both blades were comfortable to use and you can't go wrong with either one, but the BK9 (with the slabs) just felt better to me. I felt I had more overall control and less of a machete feel than with the Junglas.
