Ok so a few days ago I finally perfected my BK2, so what was left to do other then order a BK9!
I got the 9 in the mail yesterday and decided to jump right in to a few simple personalizations and I figured a few of you might enjoy a couple pics.
First I modified the little plastic insert found in the BK9 sheath to fit an Izula (my knife never came with the remora) all I had to do was yank it out, and take a dremel cut out tool to the insert to allow the wider blade to fit properally. I regret not taking a pic of this step. Then I wrapped the plastic insert in duct tape and used a small bit of leather to protect the exposed edge of the Izula from cutting the nylon.
Then I decided that the handle was not quite the thickness I'm used to. To make the 9's handles a little more like the BK2 I wipped up some liners made from an old xbox game case
Pics were before buffing.
I also took the time to add some texture to the handle using truck bed liner. Finally, I added a altoids tin (don't know whats going it it yet) to complete the setup.
This is without a doubt, the nicest piece of outdoor equipment I own. The only question is...what Becker to get next?
