Had to show the first use of my BK9. Very sharp from factory and sliced her open with one stroke. That is saying something on a hog. Shot her at 20 yrds with crossbow. I got tired of waiting for my buck, sitting at 180 yrds out and chasing a doe, to come in. So she had to go. Can't wait to try it on a deer.

Camillus made a version with a sharpened swedge called the BK9HH "Hog Hunter".

Gotta love that BK9.

What do I have to do to load decent pics? I have a photo bucket account and every pic with my phone is to large when I go to load?

I deliberately resize most of my pics so they'll be smaller and more useable before I upload to photobucket.

HELL YEAH!!!!

Now, that's what I'm talkin' about. Any more pics of the dress out? BK9 with blood on it? Love those "in use" pics, and I been dying to get some pig blood on my 9. Had a chance during the late summer, but never could get it done.

I'm very glad you did. Great post, brother, great post. Needs more "graphic" pics though. :D

No more pics of that hunt. I can get plenty more as we are covered up in hogs. So no worries on shooting more. The BK9 performed great, sliced the belly open in a single stroke. I am amazed at how sharp it stayed as I am starting to use it for clearing vines and limbs when I go back to retrieve an animal. Getting to old to fight the woods with the constant contortion exercise, so I've just decided to cut trail. This normally stays in my BOB, but I am thnking it may get strapped to the hunting pack very soon. I am going out again this weekend and will get some butcher shots.

Next goal is a coyote with my bow or crossbow..... maybe the 14 will see some action skinning it out.

Awesome, BACON !!!!

if you get a yote, please, please, let me know what your method of call was..

I hear ya on the deer, amazes me how little I've seen this year and mostly does, but yet they're releasing mountain lions to control the deer population?????????

NP on the yote. I called in a Red Tail Hawk last week, watched him for 20 minutes, to cool. I have an old remington remote caller that I wanted to see how far it would work so I placed it 100Yrds outside of my stand. Once it finally received a signal from the wireless remote it seemed to work. (this thing was $40 five years ago so it was worth it) The hawk landed in the tree I place it in, looking for the source of the noise.

I have shot a few yotes on our place and you hear them every night, closest 34 yrds, farthest 432 yrds, all confirmed with Lecia range finder. Only called in 3 or 4 with my Johnny Stewart jackrabbit electornic call combined with a mouth call. Once hunting season starts they won't come near the stands so I wait until February to start on them again. We have had the best luck over baited areas, meaning gut piles from kills. I move them every year so they don't learn to associate it with getting shot.

Hogs are another story. We counted 47 on one stand (camera confirmed) opening day. We have put the hurt on them some so they are coming in very close to dark now and I won't mess up my deer hunting with a hog unless it is with a bow. I am headed out this weekend so more to follow.

Ta hell with shootin' em, stab it to death with your BK9. Make sure to get pics and vids of the engagement. I'll buy you the BKT of your choice, BK10 LE included. :D

I have no love loss for hogs, or coyotes. I used to have a farmer down here that would pay me to clear coytotes off his land. Love it. We don't have too many hogs here, or at least not like more southern states do. I have to head south to kill some bacon. :D

Hog hunting sounds like such a good time, almost makes me wish we had some up here in NY. Would hate to see how that would play out during deer season though.
