BK9 in Leather?

I've had a beer or two so this might just be the loss of brain cells, but would there be a problem putting the BK9 in a leather sheath (cost, retainability/retention, functionality)? As I fantasize about this I can only hope that I'm not just drunk-thinking. If anyone has experience, photos, or suggestions please feel free to leave them. Thanks!

before i quit drinking, id do that kinda thing all the time. it was always a suprise when the Fed Ex guy showed up....sorta like Christmas
 
Damn, those are some sweet looking 9 sheaths Skystorm.

Oh man, I've always wanted just that combo...pics like this weaken my resolve!

As to the op, go for it! If sober self regrets it I'll bet you could pass it off with little trouble :)
 
I wish my Becker was that big...I have to use my BK5. :(

When I get my 9 I want to get a kydex, but that leather does look appealing.
 
I have the 9 and 11 combo setup pictured above and I must say its pretty BADASS!! I think it was Sky and myself that thought it up, but i could be wrong. I do know that the black leather one pictured is mine and I love it. Great Moo Pants!
 
Thanks for all the info. I'm glad I asked, even if drunk me was kind of ignorant.

FYI...My sheath was made by Nix Leather (mywifethinksImcrazy). It was a lot prettier before I got mod antsy and decided to make it black. That was one of his very early sheaths...I have a BK2 Scout by him and the stitching is way nicer. I don't care about that though, that BK9 slides in it's sheath like a Hitori Hanzo sword...

I have it stripped down even further now....took the scout straps off. Those sheaths look badass, but the more leather bells and whistles = more weight. I was checking out Kirei/Dannys Tracker in a Hedgehog bushcraft scout sheath this weekend...thing was about as heavy as a cinder block. If you wore it on your back you'd be running around backwards...
