My BK9 just came in the mail and it's AWESOME. I will definitely be destroying some fire wood for my LSUvBama party sat. GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!:D

So i took the BK9, BK2, Junglas, SOG Fixation Bowie, Winchester Bowie, and Mora 731 to baton some fire wood. I didn't want my other blades to think I was abandoning them for the BK9. The BK2 and Junglas were just for shits and giggles, as I already know they are awesome blades. The BK 9 performed awesome as expected, nuff said. The SOG did surprisingly well. I expected it to snap batoning through the wood but it did just fine. The winchester did great considering its a $30 knife. The Mora was the most surprising, batoning through 4 inch logs without much trouble and still very sharp after. I have to say the BK9 is just one hell of a knife. One of the best blades over 8 inches out there, IMHO. Sorry it took so long for the pics.

Congrats,

That might be my 2nd becker or the BK5, not sure yet, shoot up some pics.........

You from Bama? If so I'm sorry for your loss in advance ;)

Um, Tennessee. And I hate sports. Can't stand 'em. Couldn't care less about any of them, honestly. Love to play them and have played quite a bit, just not something I care to watch.

Lumberjack competitions are pretty cool, and the Scottish Heavy events, like to watch those. And participate.

rocking the tacti-kilt

kewl...

Utilikilt, OD, Original. What a muddy ass day that was, it was true Scottish Games then, as the field turned to mush.

I came in 4th in the Amateur Class. Which sucked. I did turn the cabre, and made a 18' 56lb vertical toss, so, I consider that a win in my book. Sucked it up on the sheef toss though.

there are some pics of men in kilts we just don't want to see :D

Would you guys know of any mods to the sheath? I like everything except the insert. Its too loose for my tastes. I would like to at least make the space smaller but ideally turn it into a friction sheath. Im not really concerned about the coating, it will be oiled regardless.

Dunno - think we'll need to see pics before we can proceed.

You're gonna need to work that plastic insert out, and boil it, then form fit it to the blade, then put it back in. Only the front side is glued, and only in a few spots, so, a dull flat head screw driver is what I used to remove my insert. Once its out, you can see what you need to do, to get that fit the way you want it.

Oh, and post some pics. :D

Thanks Moose, I appreciate it. You sure are helpful. If you eve pass through Baton Rouge, shoot me an email and we'll go get some beers at the bulldog, on me :D.

Nice pics of the 9, can't wait for mine to get here.. And me thinks me see a Junglas?

Yup. Another beast of a knife. Can't say enough good things about it. If your thinking about getting one, its kind of a short sword, which equals more awesome.

Ethan actually said once, that the BK9 was as close to a short sword as he's ever created. I like'em.
