In anticipation of the upcoming Beckerhead West gathering, I decided to mod my BK9 and the little blade that came with it
Not too much in the way of changes but I removed the thumb ramp and recontoured the false edge into more of a drop point. I didnt actually move the point. Just removed the angled area that gave it a clip point appearance. On the little guy, I removed some steel from the flat bevels so it is a thinner edged tool that will be ready for the finer cuts it was designed for. When it came to me it was too thick at the edge to be much more useful than an axe edge. Fixed that
I also reprofiled the guard/handle area to better fit my index finger. Makes a world of difference. I still want to change out the scales on the BK9 for either some custom scales of my own make or some factory micarta. Either way would please me. Nothing wrong with the Grivory but when I have a choice, I prefer G10 and Micartas over the molded stuff.
