Hello guys, just today I received my second bk9, but the very first thing i noticed was the difference between the logos ,they are slightly different on both sides, I posted a couple pics so if anyone knows the reason of that please share it, thanks!

Guess I need one of each now. I have no idea, but hopefully someone chimes in soon.
I don't really think that's gonna affect the functionality at all , but the truth, I was a little bit concerned with the fact of a quality issue related, for me both are perfect the way they came, but like I said if someone with more knowledge could explain it, that would be great.

Where did you get them?

Nothing to worry about. They changed the stamp a little in the last few years before switching to the etched logos. The Kabar stamp with the line in the middle is the older one. You have one of each. And the model numbers were stamped all over the place too. I have several becker where the model number is partially under the handle. probably just one of the reasons they stopped stamping them.

First Kabar Stamp.

BK9's with different stamp placement.

BK17 with newer stamp with middle line removed. I have a BK4 like this too.

Cool, I do have some different stamped models and this was the first time I noticed some discrepancies, so nothing to worry about, I appreciate the help guys !!!!

Thanks to Kentwood33 for pointing out the differences - just added another NIB roll stamped BK9 to my collection to make sure I have both "versions".

A question to the others - are there likely 2 "versions" of each of the models that were produced with the smooth coat or was it limited to the BK9s?

Just remember i saw a bk2 with the stamped number slightly moved into the handles(like the 9 on the pics) but i didn't pay attention to the kabar logo ,my bad.BTW congrats on you new acquisition !!!

Pretty sure it's a fake. Just PM me for my address, and I can "inspect" it. Inspection typically takes about 4-6 years. :p
Seriously, as noted, it's just a production variation.
