How does one extract the plastic liner from the nylon sheath?

I don't like the rattle of the blade on the hard material...
I wanted to take it out of the nylon to work on...dunking in hot water and soforth.

I can't quite figure out how it's held in. It seems to be way more than friction.

The BK13 insert was stitched in at the bottom.
This doesnt seem to be the case with the 9. There was a little row of stitches across the sheath in about the right place. I took those out and it still doesn't budge. (doh! made more work for nothing...gotta put those back now.)

What's the liner in the BK9 sheath made of anyway, kydex?

Hi joben,
I wondered the same thing and as I wasnt happy with my sheath, unstiched it and took it apart. As you said, the BK-13 sheath is held by stitching the bottom. The main sheath has two tabs that extend toward the outside of the sheath and is stitched on both sides, about midway up.
The liner is made out of plastic I think.
