BK9 sheath noise

Finally got my BK9 last week. I noticed that when the sheath is on my belt and I walk, the knife can move side to side inside the Kydex liner, resulting in a "click-clack-click-clack" sound in time with my steps. It's a little annoying and there isn't anything I can do about it (well, except for complaining about it! :D ) My BK7 doesn't do this in the sheath, but the 9 does and it uses the same style sheath. Any fellow BK9 owners out there expereince this??

Regardless, the BK9 is another excellent heavy duty fixed blade...I love the design. Kudos to Ethan, Will, and the rest of our friends at Camillus for another outstanding product.

Dex

Try this:
Take the knife out and rotate it as if you were going to carry it on the other hip. Does it still rattle? If not take the liner out, rotate it, and re-hot glue it in. You could just take it out and tighten it down with a heat gun. I did the rotate trick with my BK7 and it doesn’t rattle now.

There was a thread on this when the BK7 came out, IIRC.

Dex,

That's probably just the sound of the other 18 knives on your person bangin' into one another. ;)

I thought someone else on here, took a 1" by 1" nylon webbing, wrap it around the tip and push it down the sheath. It would stick to the bottom of the sheath and squelch any noise ;)

My BK7 makes all kinds of racket in the sheath, no matter which way it is put in. No big deal for me, but I might try pyrguy's solution.

Hi Dexter
I know this guy that can help you out:D

here is a better pic

Nice sheath! Where did you get the new handles? They look great as well.

Hey,
There is a great concept- a $60 dollar knife and a $40 dollar sheath!
whew!

How about using a heat gun or your oven to heat and form the liner to the blade?

That worked for me.

According to Will, there is some variance in the stock thickness used on these knives so Camillus errs on the big side with the liner.

Shootist,

Those scales look like the ones Bill Siegle was selling here for $55.

See this thread.:D

That trick Calyth suggested came from Recondoc1 in a thread started by Sgtmike88. I just got a BK9, and happened to be looking at some old threads.

Hey, David--is that a BalisongXtreme sheath? Looks like the one that Clay did for my C/U 7.

Calyth - thanks for the tip (so to speak :) ) I'll give that a try.

Blues - VERY funny :D Well, I only had about 3 knives on me in total at the time!!

Thanks all for the responses!
