Bk9 smooth coat

Maybe i did hear it somewhere before and just forgot but i was surprised when i took out my new bk9 and it had a smooth coating. I kind of like the looks of the old rougher coating but appreciate that it will cause less friction. I don’t think it will wear as nicely either but there is only one way to find out…

I liked the older smooth coating , I didn't like the rougher coating later and now they are back to smooth??
