Just read a disappointing article. Can't believe Ka-bar rolled over like that. Here's an excerpt of the relevant part.

Ka-bar representatives reported that they would be pulling the design after an intensive ad and social media campaign by activist group "Moms Demand Action," who argued that the design is too violent, and will lead to stabbings in schools. They reportedly will be focusing their attention on the BK7 next, arguing that the name "Combat Utility" glorifies violence, according to Shannon Watts. The decision was met with much outrage from knife owners, and Knife Rights spokesman Doug Ritter vowed that he would devote the considerable resources of his organization to fighting this decision. Ka-bar is still accepting orders for the remaining BK9's to be produced before the ban takes effect at the end of this month, and reports that there will be a run of commemorative designs with "The Death of Freedom: RIP BK9" engraved into the blade. If you would like to contact Ka-bar, you may reach them via email or telephone, at..."
