hey, guys. i posted this on the esee forum a minute ago. i'm re-posting it here since you guys might be interested in reading my crappy opinion but don't surf the esee forum:
ups just delivered my junglas so here's a side by side pics with the bk9. first, as with all the esee knives i have, the fit and finish are superb! my crappy pics aren't doing it justice but i'm too tired from hiking all day today to try to take pretty pics. good thing this group cares more about function than form. anyways, the pics...
in case anyone is wondering, i used a sharpie to color the micarta black. it shipped with the standard micarta color.
the grid background is 1" square for size perspective but notice in some pics it looks warped. that's because i didn't store it properly flat.
my first impressions are the complete opposite of what i was expecting! i was expecting the junglas to be a lot like the bk9...well, only bigger. in my humble opinion they are very different knives, just about the only thing they have in common is that they're both finished in black and have a very sharp edge.
okay, this may sound weird but hang in there. the bk9 to me feels like a scaled up knife whereas the junglas feels like a scaled down machete. when i hold the bk9 i feel that deep urge to chop down some massive wood
...with the junglas i feel like chopping apart terrorists, rapists, and child molesters. it has that dark side of the force emanating from it.

i warned you guys it'll sound weird.
since a lot of guys/gal(s?) here have guns here's another analogy. if you want to maintain the peace you grab an ar-15 (in this case the bk9). but if you want to start a revolution, you grab an ak-47 (in this case the junglas).
okay, enough of my crappy analogies! i'm a programmer and i've had a few sips of bourbon so i tend to blabber on and on
oh geez. i didn't think it's possible but now i really hate the bk9's sheath even more...argh!
...in summary, i'm ditching the rest of my knives and i'll have to figure out how to wear the bk9 on my neck and the junglas on my waist without attracting too much unwanted attention. lol.
