Anybody know how many of these were made? I have one in brand new condition. Not for sale, but I was just wondering. THANKS!!

I have no idea how many Hog Hunters were made, but I wouldn't mind finding one LOL

you got pics?

Difference is what, just the sharpened swedge? That shouldn't be hard to mod a regular into something like that.

Yeah, should take like 5 seconds...Will sharpening the swedge actually do anything though?

It has impressive piercing power. And it makes Liberals cry and it makes Sheeple flee in horror.

Actually makes me want to double edge my Cammillus BK-7

Here, have some pr0n:

mass is ass... that is, i feel the Cammy is a heavier knife, so it's a better chopper.

but hey, chop off between KaBar and Cammy? nice...

Oh yes- from a hog hunting standpoint, better penetration and a backcut.
From a fighting standpoint- exact same thing :D
Guyon- Nice HH! Nice box too, the Cami ones have a sort of charm to them that I love.
Bladite- Thicker blades don't neccesarily equal a better chopper. Thinner blades will have thinner edges and might actually chop better, although there probably isn't that much of a difference between the Ka-Bar and Cami 9s. Not owning a Cami Becker, I can't compare.

o Camillus era

oo Blade thickness: 0.21 inches
oo Knife Weight: 18.25 ounces

ooo KaBar

o KaBar era

oo Blade thickness: 0.188 inches
oo Knife Weight: 16.8 ounces

well, two more ounces the the thicker model.

convex both for a proper chopping edge, and i think the heavier one will chop better.

without a proper edge, a thinner knife tend to penetrate deeper, and bind more, at least in my use.

There is a very noticeable difference. I can tell by picking one up that it isn't ''my'' BK9 just by feel. Very solid and chunky in the hand....has a nice balance, and just feels beefier then the kabar...and I LOVE my kabar 9.....the camm is just more to love.

I have been browsing certain auction sites..and keeping an eye on the Exchange. I will find one someday at a reasonable price, Im in no hurry.

That's back when Camillus was still around though... They were probably a bit more common and cheaper at the posting of that thread (August 2006)

pardon the heresy and please keep the pitchforks in their kydex, but I think that grinding off that longer swedge would make a beautiful blade, kinda like a Sykco 911. Ok, back to hiding.
