howdy guys- i came across a black 560 that is new to me and would like some information on it if there is any...
i have seen the black with a smooth finish on both blade and handle...but
this one has a textured finish under the black coating such as a bead or sand blasted or maby even a parkenized texture...
i can not tell throught the display if it has the n or the upside down u mark but it is one of them and they can not find the box (it's NOS in an old pawn shop display ) so there is no cataloge number...
i have seen other black ones on the ebay but could not tell what the finish was...i know the black is not as common as gold or silver or gray
what is most and least common of the two black finishes smoth or textured ...?
stickered at 75$ but who knowes what they will take...
larry, joe either of you or any one else have any info or seen the textured before? you can email me from profile if you want...
thanks dave

My black one is a smooth finish Dave.

You know you are supposed to grab up the goods and ask questions later!!!! :D :D

I've got two black 560's, both are smooth, one is used so I cant be sure if it was always smooth like the other new one.

Since the black 560's usually go for some pretty good $$$, be careful of fakes, Dave. Maybe somebody tried their hand at spray painting one of the other 560's?

it occured to me that it may have been messed with but it has the finish compleaty on the blade and none in the edge with a buck consistant edge...
Yes it does look like the one listed above but with a bit more texture ...
makes me wander if it is an applacation of finish issue?
hummm ... need the historians on this one i think ...
have made up my mind ...going to put the grab on it ...wife will not like it but will use fishing trip money and sell another 560 to make it back up ...
some times it is a choice of this or that for the display on the wall....
hummm i would never have seen that 580 unless it was pointed out !!!
would not have been covered in my search numbers ....you guys realy mine ebay dont you !!! ;<)

Dave...spare me the dangers of mining...what is the 560 you are thinking of selling?

Buckaholic, what are you looking for? I have six.
Well ZZJake...
I only have one that I got thanks to ChickenTrax...it is a 2001 XLT-TI Crystal (B-560-WC-0). You can see it in the second pic at:

A 560 with a 110 stamped blade would be cool

So, I would be interested in what you have.

Feel free to e-mail me as indicated in my profile :D
Thanks!

welllllll,,,
could not stand it and went and spent fishing trip money on it...
it is a 97 year 560 with the textured finish and has no marks were the blade rotates as of yet .... my brother wanted to open and close it to 'break it in' tell i almost yealed at him to not close it!
need less to say i think they watch ebay as i did not get much off but it was still worth it ... no box or paper or sheath jest the knife... not that i worry much about thoes things it is all about the knife to me ,,, i keep them if it has them but not that important ,,, like "look at this box it came with!" but i can understand haveing that stuff as it is jest a diffrent level of collecting,,, i guess it is like saveing the window sticker off a new car.... sheath - well some of the 560's came with a 426 sheath...and some are not marked either way...
oh well dont mater as i will be selling two to make up for this email if you want to know what...

Wow...think I got a great deal for my XLTi with genuine TiAN blade and diamond encrusted handle.

Hey ZZJake...thanks for the scan, but I KNOW you will fare better on e-bay...they seem to be going for pretty good $$$.

Good point Dave on the box. I've been bumming that I didn't keep the coffin my 102BR came in. Never thought about like a car window sticker...I like that perspective.
Hope you are doing well.

The horse race, I mean "bidding", continues...coming into the home stretch with less than 2 hours to go, it's whatabeaut by a buck to get the Buck!!!!

I am SOOOOO tempted...but it's an "estate" gig...something gives me chicken skin (sorry ChickenTrax...that means "goose bumps" in that 'kine" lingo). What if that guy the "estate" is from decides to go looking for his "580" one night????

Know I could get it...can I, should I???? Mike and Blue Sky have already caused me to bust up my self-imposed "Lent". I wasn't gonna break open the piggy bank on e-bay for a Buck for a month...but they found a loop hole...bought a Buck from a on-line store...they are like the devil!!!! ;)

Anyway, just thought I'd let others know that what I think is a 560 with over-paint or a shallow tang stamp that the seller reads as "580" is going for $51 right now.

With goose bumps...

I saw that also, Goose, here's what I think...you should bid...right now, $175.00, OK, now that you've done that, I have nothing to worry about because I'm not paying that kind of money for that knife:eek: :D . Thanks for saving me from myself. Preston
