The pic's are from a couple weeks ago, i'm still trying to catch up on the pic's .

These were for a Benchmade/Snody 201 Fixed Activator. They are black and blue G10 with circle/dot glow inserts.

Nice work again. I hate to say, I cheaped out on your advice and tried the Glow inc. paint instead of trying the powder/epoxy route. The paint does glow well but it's almost like a granular powder mixed in some clear nail polish. Almost like mixing sand or sugar in the polish and only the grains glow.

I'll have to try the powder and epoxy next I suppose.

thanks guys :)

the powder is definitely the way to go that way you can control how much goes in. with my powder i try to mix as much of it in the resin as possible that way when it's dry it looks completely solid.

I'd imagine it's possible to get to much powder in preventing the epoxy from setting up correctly. Is there a rough ratio that seems to work best for you? If you'd rather not divulge your secrets I understand. :D

if you're using the system III epoxy then you're good to go. i just mix it to "taste" :) for my mix and i did the same when i used the system III.

i dump the powder it in there to where it's roughly the consistency of grainy maple syrup. The grains of the powder i use are more fine than the V10, but it doesn't matter, it all drys up the same. even when you think you've got as much powder as you possibly can it in the mix you'll still have a little "settling" action while it dries.

the only advise i can offer as far a quantity goes is.....a little goes a long way. i mix everything in a tablespoon...even for the very detailed jobs that use a lot of mix. i don't even use enough fill half the tablespoon once the mix is complete........unless of course i have four or five scales to fill, then i might get close to filling the tablespoon....but i still almost always have leftovers!!! :)

hahahaha!!!

i hate to waste the stuff so it goes in "the boys" G.I. Joe's, Star Wars guys, etc. i also pour the leftovers into molds sometimes so they can have little "nightlights" in their room.

Cool ideas. I guess I'd better start thinking about molds and things. My boy will enjoy that.

i've also put it on my car/house keys, the otter box clip for my phone case, my respirator...pretty much anything sitting around close by when i mix some glow :)

Nice scales, Jeff. I've sent you a few emails and haven't heard back. Maybe you missed them? Anyway, I'd love to hear back from you.

thank you ;)

not sure if i got them, they may have went to the junk folder.

you can give me a call anytime at: 210-544-3250

call anytime convenient for you, i'm pretty much 24/7.

Jeff
