OK I finally got to my mail this morning. I opened my Tomar's order before going to work and found the Becker Custom BK16 Black Micarta Knife Scales in the 1266 Modifed Tanto box. I then went to the "Evil Stepmother"'s (its TRADITION to call them that! And TRADITIONS ARE IMPORANT!) place and got the nephew to give me the BK-18 I gave him and put on the Black Tweener Micarta Scales on the knife.
It was a spectactular combination of the Black Micarta Scales on a Black Coated Knife. The Nephew loved the upgrade I got him, as the handle scales were more "Grippier" than the standard zytel(?) and looked a bit better.
I got him the Micarta Handle Scales because of that "Grippierness" would make it less likely to slip and cut himself and also because I'm a good spoiling uncle. Its the first knife and hunting knife he ever got to own by himself. Odd thing to because he is an apprentice meat cutter uperier, aka butcher. So the BK-18 I gave him for X-Mass got an up grade, as I remebered how I slasherated my hand on a knife my hand slipped up on a knife with a splippery handle when I was liberated the imprisoned Organs of a Deer I executed for eating LIVING LIVE BEINGS! a.k.a Plants. So I figured the Micarta Handles would serve him well on his first knife he got town by himserlf. He might of had a few folders but I think his mother "Liberated" them from him.
I would of done the same for my litttle brother's BK2 I got him also for X-MASS but I didn't get the two sets of the BK handle scales with my order that came in. I still needed one extra set of the bigger BK Micarta Scales for myself as well. But I'm sure it can be resolved soon.
But man that black BK-18 with the Black Micarta Handles looks and FEELS GREAT!
I think that the BK-18 with its high saber grind is the best Tweener in production. BK-16 with a Saber Grind is bit better I'd say, but that one isn't in production any more.
