Does anyone know where I can get some of this stuff? 3 ply cording TWISTED in BLACK that is 1/8" wide that does not give and is pretty dense when tied into a knot? Basically I want something that will hold it's shape and not buckle when tied into a not. Something I don't want would be the consistency of yarn. Not like yarn :D

I mean I know where to get some, but it's like 2 bucks a yard! Which is crazy!

Anything made synthetic would be perfect! No cotton.

Can't tell you how many Joann's fabrics and Michael's craft stores i've been to! Seem to find it in every other color except black!!!!! and for what black I have found, buckles when you pull it tight! BAH!.\

Man, I have googled nylon cord, nylon cording, nylon underwear! LOL. nevermind, too much information. :)

The stuff I found for 2 bucks a yard is apparently made of imported rayon...and too rich for my blood. I'd have to charge an additional 20+ bucks for handles wrapped in that stuff!

I believe we have the type of cord you're looking for at Hancock's fabrics here. They come on a conical spool and come in 10's of colors. You might try their website, although they don't list everything they keep in stores.

rwrope.com give them a call, the website needs updating but they're awesome over the phone

did i tell you that already? if i did forget about it

Fishing department at wall to walmart. Not sure if it's the right size, but they have some stiff black trot line.

Have you considered buying it in white and dying it yourself? I've had luck using RIT dye packets you buy at the grocery store and using a large pot on the stove top with the dye mixed with hot water. Just a thought

1/8" seems narrower than I recall seeing, but otherwise it looks identical to the 3 strand poly line you see at Boater's World, West Marine, etc. I like polypropylene rope better than nylon because it doesn't stretch when wet. Black should be easy and the color is infused in the material...not a dye and it wont bleed...

Here is a photo of the roll I have that is 1/16"...search under Atwood Rope MFG for the 1/8" that your looking for or call this place where I got mine from and see if they can get 1/8" for you...
