Heres my latest. I think I'll call it the Black Diamond Rifleman's knife. An old black diamond file, through tang construction. Amber dyed elk antler, brass guard and buttcap, and a copper ferrule. All of the metal fittings were jeweled with an engraving pen.

The pommel nut is off-center.
Just have to etch my logo, sharpen, and make a leather sheath.

This is the last knife I'm making until after I move into my new place!

Thanks ravenshurst. I etched in ferric chloride then hit the flats with a scotchbrite belt. It's a little brighter than the picture shows.

Thanks Shane. I finished my first pattern welded blade today, etched it in ferric acid. Is that the same stuff? I soaked it in baking soda and scrubbed with a green pad. It turned grey. I hit it with some 1200 grit, and ir is really nice. But it isn't blue.

It's not blue. It's probably just a reflection that makes it look that way.

Here is the sheath that I finished up today.
