Hi all. I read Sal's message about the new Native coming up soon. I'm, of course, drooling for this knife since ít's by far my favorite Spyderco knife. In fact, I already own one regular FRN Native plain and 2 Blue G-10 BF Natives plain.

Since there are a lack of pictures, I would like a detailed, or at least informative description of this new black G-10 piece. I understand that the pictures posted in BF of the Vesuvius have this shell inlay in the handle (which I believe is originally G-10 also), and it looks drop dead gorgeous. However, I've seen this handle in different colors except for black. Are these the shell inlays Sal was talking about, the same style? And if it is, how would it work with a black handle? If it isn't, could you explain to me then what shell inlays are like, and how do they affect the aesthetics of the handle?

Thank you,

-Flood

The shell is an inlay set into the G10 scale. Set in about 1/4" from the edge of the scale.

I just wanna know the price. Would it be safe to assume $100+? Not MSRP, which is usually significantly more than the actual price with Spyderco. For instance, the Calypso Jr. Lightweight's minimum advertised price is around $65 (give or take a few), but is easy to find for $45 or less.

Hopefully pictures will be posted soon regarding this model? I am anxious to get it, but would really prefer to see what I'm buying before making such a heavy investment.

I know that this won't help you any, Flood, but I saw one at the Spirit of Steel knife show and they were very, very nice. I doubt that you will be disappointed.

I am in the Spyderco Collector Club and I can't wait to get my Natives. Here is a link to the pics of the knives:

They are some cool blades.
